Since we wrote last, we've been busy!!!!

Saturday was a long day of driving, checking into dorms at Luther College, a pizza party where the food wasn't the best, and late night.  We decided we needed to remember the dads traveling with us for Father's Day, so we decorated the vans and made posters.  Of course, all this was after supper   -- some of you got calls from some of us.

Sunday was VERY busy.  We sang for the church service at the First Lutheran Church and had people in tears with our sound!  Janet's parents drove down from Adams, Minnesota for church so we got to meet them.  The people at the church served us a lunch and then we went to the Vesterheim American/Norwegian museum.  We're learning a lot and capturing it in questions which then get put into trivia crossword puzzles.

After the museum we went TUBING!  We floated down the Upper Iowa River for about an hour and a half each in our own big inner tube.  It was "Way Cool"!!!  We couldn't risk cameras getting wet, so we'll show you video of the take-off later.  We all had a wonderful time and only a few of us got burned to crisp.  In spite of being very tired, we did a good performance.  Everyone liked it.  After the concert we went to a Dairy Queen for ice cream to celebrate Leena's birthday and we all got spoons and dug into the cake without cutting pieces.  It was fun!  Another late night.

Monday was another day of driving.  We left the campus at about 9:30 to drive to Centerville.  Our first stop was in Spillville where we visited the Bily Clock Museum.  It was very interesting -- enough so that our 1 hour stop was 1.5 hours.  And we were busy making index cards of trivia questions so Marg can make more cross-word puzzles.  We're having fun solving them too -- that's what we did with the last leg of the trip -- try to solve one of the earlier puzzles Marg made for us from our trivia questions.

Then, the highlight of the trip (so far) was our dinner cruise.  We were on a huge, 2-story houseboat that cruised out into the middle of Lake Rathbun and stopped.  Then we were allowed to slide off the slide (from the 2nd story) into the lake -- and to jump off the side of the 2nd story into the water.  Even more amazing than the tubing.  It was the end of the day, so no sunburns this time.  Check out these pics!

As this is written, we are having quiet time on the bus heading for Branson, Missouri.  We will have a full schedule there too, so a little quiet is very pleasant.  And it's nice to all be in one bus instead of communicating by walkie-talkie!  We have a short performance and a show to see today (and maybe a short swim).  More later.....
