June 17, 2005 Ames, Iowa to Decorah, Iowa We’re moving along nicely! Yesterday was full. We started off by gathering at the church at 8 a.m. instead of TBA – “slow morning with host families.” Not too surprising, but . . . . The living history farm was a lot of fun.

When we got back to the Iowa State Campus
we had a tour of the historic carillon and had a student
We had to climb the tower in groups of six, so the rest got to hang out on the lawns. There’s no way around it, but we’re
spending a lot of happy time in the vans. So far, no complaints even when we’ve
not eaten a meal until about an hour after we had hoped to. Everyone’s staying
cooperative and flexible! THEN WE MADE MUSIC!! The concert was fabulous! All that was yesterday, today we spent all morning driving to Decorah, but now we have free time – and most of us are heading for a fantastic looking pool. It has a water slide and umbrella showers and all sorts of fun looking stuff. We’ll try to add pictures of that soon. |
