Week of October 14, 2003

Dear Choirmembers and Parents:

Thank you all for your wonderful singing this week!

REMEMBER to bring your music folder, pencil and water bottle to every rehearsal.
As you receive music, label it with your name.

MUSIC THEORY PACKETS: Members of the Minisingers, Mastersingers, Chambersingers and new members of Jubilate should have received music theory packets. Please be working in these packets and turn in when completed. Try to do at least 3 pages a week. Let us know if you have questions about the material. We have older singers/helpers at every rehearsal who are happy to help younger singers with Theory. Jubilate and Touring Choir members should be doing some Music Theory, too. The Explorations in Music books are available at Keyboard Cache in Anchorage and at Matanuska Music in Wasilla. Please let me know if you have questions about which level to use.

CHOIR ABSENCES: If you are absent from rehearsal, please let us know--even if you know it means we'll get the message after the rehearsal. You can email or leave voicemail message for me -- jstotts@pobox.alaska.net , 746-3164 or Glennis -- glenroy@gci.net, 694-3407.
Each singer is allowed three absences per semester before a reaudition is necessary. (Noone has missed three rehearsals yet!)

SATURDAY REHEARSAL ON OCTOBER 25 at Anchorage Lutheran Church (15th and N):

Minisingers, Mastersingers, Chambersingers from 12 noon until 2 p.m.
Jubilate from 1-3 p.m
Touring Choir from 1-4 p.m.

There will be two Saturday rehearsals in November--8th and 15th

UNIFORMS: An order has been placed--thanks, everyone, for getting these orders in to Glennis. Girls in Minisingers, Mastersingers, Chambersingers: If you need shoes, Nordstrom will order Mary Jane style black shoes. They would like to place the order at one time--if you need shoes, please call Glennis and let her know the size. Thanks.
There will be a uniform inspection in November, where singers will need to model uniforms to be sure everything is in place, fits well, etc.

SCHOOL TOUR CONCERTS: We will be performing a concert tour of local schools at the beginning of December. For this daytime tour, we'll use the casual uniform which consists of red choir polo, white choir sweatshirt, black casual slacks (Docker style pants)--not jeans or leggings, white socks, white casual shoes. If you need choir logo clothing, please let us know.

INNISBROOK FUNDRAISER: Thanks for turning in your packets last week. You may continue to have friends and family order online at www.innisbrook.com. You must fill in your name and choir name and the order number: 103234. When ordering online, the orders are shipped directly to the customer and the customer is billed for the freight of the order. There is free shipping for on-line orders of $100 or more. On-line orders placed after October 3 will not count towards the prize for the singer. However, orders may be placed at any time of the year and the singer/choir will receive credit for the order. These Innisbrook products are of superior quality and well worth the money spent on items which can be used personally or as gifts. Product delivery date is second week of November--about the same time we'll begin selling our holiday concert tickets!!
