Auditions

   The Alaska Children's Choir is currently scheduling auditions by appointment for new members for the fall 2009 semester.

   The Choir is open to treble voiced children ages 5-18 in the Southcentral Alaska area.  Current members hail from Anchorage, Eagle River, Chugiak, Palmer, Wasilla and Big Lake.  Weekly rehearsals for the group are held in Palmer for those members from the Mat-Su Valley and in Anchorage for those from the Anchorage/Eagle River area.

   The audition takes only 15 minutes!  Each singer should be prepared to sing a short song--less than 2 minutes; vocalize to show range, echo-sing pitch patterns, and echo-clap rhythm patterns.  At the audition, we're checking for music-learning potential, not necessarily skill already-acquired.

   The Alaska Children's Choir is a group devoted to comprehensive music-learning though the primary instrument, the voice.  With five training levels, there is a choir level for every singer.
